We didn't set out to build a company. We built one dog.
It started with one designer and one dog
Before BrickPaws, we were a small team of product designers who liked building things by hand. One of us had a dog. The kind of dog you build your whole day around. When she passed, there was nothing on a shelf, nothing to hold. So we built her. Brick by brick, from a single photo, until she was sitting on a desk looking exactly like herself again.
We didn't plan to sell it. We just needed to build her.
We made one for a friend. Then it didn't stop.
A friend saw the set and asked for one of her own dog. Then another. Then someone's cat. Then someone's childhood dog, the one they hadn't thought about in years until they saw a photo of him again in bricks. Every set had the same reaction. Somebody would stop mid-build, go quiet, and say a name.
That's when we knew this wasn't a one-off project. It was something people needed a way to do.
We still build every set like it's the first one
- Every set is designed from scratch, from your actual photo, by a real person
- Nothing is templated. No two sets come out the same
- You still build it yourself. That was never going to change
We started this because we needed somewhere to put a dog we couldn't hold anymore. Whatever you're building yours for, we hope it means half as much.
